Harold Nichols

Harold Nichols
The Clinton Family YMCA Board of Directors announced the hiring of Harold Nichols as their new Chief Executive Officer. Nichols assumed his position on April 1, 2021.
Nichols comes to the YMCA from Presbyterian College, where he most recently served as Assistant Athletic Director for Development since 2017. Prior to that position, he was the head football coach for eight years. As Assistant AD, he was responsible for planning and directing the overall program of fundraising for athletics, to include annual giving, facility upgrades, and other major gift opportunities.
Nichols, graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School in New Smyrna Beach, Florida in 1985. Was inducted into the New Smyrna Beach H.S. Hall of Fame in 2010.
After graduating from Presbyterian College with a degree in political science and a minor in physical education, Nichols began his football coaching career on the Blue Hose sideline in 1990. Since that time, he has coached at Georgia Southern University, returned to Presbyterian College in 1996, and was Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at the University of Rhode Island from 2000-2008. Prior to his return to PC as head coach, Mr. Nichols was Assistant Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Bucknell University.
Nichols received the 2006 All American Football Foundation Assistant Coach of the Year and was the 2014 Big South Conference Co-Coach of the Year.
Nichols is married to Presbyterian College Athletic Director Dee Nichols. They have three children, Cassie, and twins Corey and Cameron. They are members of First Presbyterian Church. The family resides in Clinton.

Patti Nelson
Patti joined the Clinton YMCA in January 2004 as Front Desk Staff and Administrative Assistant. In January 2016, she began her role as Business Manager. She is involved in all aspects of YMCA life from programming, youth activities, and finance. Patti’s favorite part about working at the YMCA is being able to work with the community to promote healthy living.

Brian Shealy has been serving the YMCA community for 33 years. He is involved in all aspects of YMCA life from sports programming, sports activities, and facility maintenance.

Laura Martin
Director of Member Services since 2011. I have also taught group fitness classes and love to sub for our Silver Sneakers class instructor. Watching someone make strides toward improving their overall health and wellness through classes that we offer here at the Clinton Family YMCA is what I love most about my job.
Kelsey Martin
Childcare Director
Kelsey Martin
Kelsey has been making a difference for over a decade at the Clinton Family YMCA! She began her work at the Y while finishing up her college education. She is a proud Gamecock with a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. After graduation she enjoyed several years as the Assistant Director prior to taking the role of Director in November 2023. Kelsey’s social work background is why she is so passionate about providing quality affordable childcare in our community. Kelsey’s favorite thing about the Clinton YMCA’s childcare program is watching the lasting relationships and friendships develop in children, parents, and staff. She is excited to continue leading and enhancing Childcare programs at the heart of the YMCA mission.
